All Points North 2021

Updated: Sep 10, 2021

In September 2021 I took part in All Points North, “a self supported, ultra-distance, endurance cycling event”.

Riders set off from Sheffield at 8pm on Saturday 4th September, and chose their own route to pass through 10 checkpoints (see map) which were dispersed across the north of England, from the Cumbrian coast to the Scottish border to the North Yorkshire coast, and seemingly all the highest points of land in between, before returning to Sheffield, ideally in time to make the finisher's dinner at 8pm on Tuesday 7th.

I covered 991km of riding and 13,400m of climbing, to finish in 72 hours 41 minutes, 20th overall and 3rd lady (in my category).

Here's my blog of how I got on (sadly lacking photos because my phone blew up on the last day). Grab a drink, its a bit long! But I wanted to bank the memories, especially without the photos to remember it by.

This was part of mine and Hector's More Miles for Mike fundraising appeal for our friend Mike who was paralysed after a cycling accident last year. Thanks so much to everyone who already donated. If you'd like to donate then find out more here and donate here.
