5 Top Tips for Your Race Day Success
Simple ways to improve your running and triathlon performance as a woman
Not getting the race results you want?
Building up to a new distance or type of race, but feel unsure how to prepare?
Has your training gone stagnant, and you’re not making any progress?
Keep getting injured?
Or do you lack the energy or motivation to train?

My 5 Top Tips for Your Race Day Success gives you a step-by-step guide on how to turn things around, so you’re ready to go out there on the big day.

Even if you don’t have a race coming up, these tips will improve your training in general, as well as your overall health and happiness.

Although most of this guide is relevant for men or women, it is written for women.

That’s because the vast majority of medical and sports research and everyday advice is based on men. And while a lot of this is useful for everyone, we are not men! We have different hormones. Many of us have a menstrual cycle. We go through menopause.

We have a different anatomy, which means we are more vulnerable to certain issues and injuries. In many cases, we are a different shape to men, and that requires a different kit. Plus, let’s not forget as women, we have often been socialised with more pressure on our appearance.

This is rarely covered in traditional sports coaching. And I should know. I’ve done enough courses to see that despite women making up 50% of the population, the differences affecting us were hardly ever mentioned. So, I made it my mission to find out more and support the women I work with the best I can.
Why is this
guide for women?

Hi, I’m Lucy Hurn!

I am the UK’s first Mental Health and Exercise Triathlon Coach. With over a decade of experience, I have supported hundreds of clients to make changes to their training, lifestyle and mindset. Clients tell me after working with me, they have more energy, training feels manageable and adds value to their lives again, so they start to see results.

I strongly believe it’s not just about your time over the finish line but how you got there. I want you to enjoy your race day, and that starts with your training.
