Wow, what a year!

2019 was a pretty cool year for me, lots of learnings, firsts and generally wow moments on on an athletic, career and personal level.

February - left London behind for the unknown world of Woking

April - finally made it onto the podium for the first time with1st in AG at Thames Turbo, (followed by 1st in AG at the Windrush Aquathlon, and 1st woman at the Marshman Half). And selected by the British Triathlon Federation to take part in the Human Genome project, including shadowing the GB Squad.

June - first solo bike packing trip, back from Euros in Holland. First 24 hour run race, joining a great team of ladies from my new running club, Woking AC, to take the first place team prize.

July - first top 5 Ironman finish at Ironman Austria and what an amazing race and group of people to be part of.

August - first 600k (diy) Audax, bought my first gravel bike and privileged to get my first experience of the Transcontinental, volunteering at the finish line (squeezing in a cheeky bike packing trip there and back).

September - first time competing at the Triathlon World Champs at the ITU Grand Final in Lausanne.

October - by far my biggest achievement ever and best experience of 2019 - competing in the inaugural Transpyranees race.

.... plus my first cyclocross race when I got back

December - first mountain bike race (on a gravel bike)

On top of sharing some great times with my new tri, cycle and run friends from Woking AC, Woking CC and Racestrong Tri club.

As well as leaving the gym world behind and setting myself up properly as a full time Tri Coach, getting stuck in coaching and helping run (can't help myself!) my new Tri club, and passing all my sports massage exams.

And becoming the happiest and proudest Auntie alive with the birth of my new nephew, alongside seeing his big brother develop into an amazing young boy, and getting to share it all with the best man a girl could ever want to hug in sweaty lycra.

Can’t wait to see what 2020 has in store
